Writer Sues Amazon and Claims She Had Idea for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

I love Amazon’s TV show “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” I love the story, the characters, the costumes, and the cast. As a result, I am pained that Amazon Studios has been sued by someone who claims that it stole her idea for the TV show. Jodi Parmley claims that the story was taken from her 2014 book with a similar character. The book is called “F.I.F.I. Financial Infidelity F**k It: The Mistress of the New Millennium.”

Parmley claims that she wrote this book and then adapted a screenplay that she shopped around to various studios. She believes that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a copy of her work and has stolen her story, including stand up routines, plots, and character traits. She seeks through a lawsuit the profits Amazon made off the show.

As I said, I love the show and hope that she is wrong.
