Couple returns from trip to discover their house has been mistakenly foreclosed

Can you believe this happened? A Coconut Creek couple returned home after a vacation and found the locks of their home had been changed, the power turned off, and items were missing. Despite that they have had no mortgage in 15 years, their house had been foreclosed upon. But the foreclosure was a mistake! The bank’s agent entered and changed the locks to the wrong house in what the couple’s lawyer calls “legalized burglary.” Unfortunately, the bank’s lawyers often rush to judgment during the litigation process as well. The most important thing that foreclosure defendants can do is hire a lawyer as early in the foreclosure process as possible. It is dangerous for foreclosure defendants to handle the proceedings themselves.
